Wendy specialises in financial training & governance.

With over 30 years experience as a Chartered Management Accountant (CGMA), (FCMA), and qualified teacher of adults, Wendy delivers transformational training that will build confidence and empower non-financial people to understand financial statements and the language of finance.

Areas of expertise:

  • Financial Management: 
    Responsibility for the organisation’s finance function, including financial strategy, statutory reporting, profit and loss and balance sheet management. She has steered organisations to achieve financial stability and provided support and guidance as a small business advisor.
  • Strategic Oversight: 
    Her experience spans leadership roles in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, giving her a comprehensive insight of how different sectors manage financial risk and strategic growth.
  • Governance Leadership: 
    As a Board Trustee and Chair, she has a proven track record of securing organisational improvement and elevating board performance and has experience as a National Leader of Governance (NLG).

Steve Bassett

Steve specialises in school leadership and governance.

Steve has over 40 years of experience within education, more than 22 of them as a primary Headteacher.

He has headship, interim headship and governance experience across the full primary range including mainstream, special, faith and multi-ethnic schools, in both challenging and affluent areas as well as rural and urban settings.

Steve regularly contributes to school improvement, adding capacity to leadership teams in a variety of roles, from supporting headteachers and deputies to working alongside teachers and Teaching Assistants (TA) to improve performance.

Steve undertakes a wide range of consultancy roles in schools including advising on strategies to improve behaviour management, teaching and learning, leadership and management, coaching and mentoring of teachers and TAs.

Bill Evans

Bill specialises in maritime operations, port safety management, and governance.

With over 45 years experience, Bill is a leading authority in maritime operations, safety management, and professional development.

His expertise is built on a foundation of command experience in both the Merchant and Royal Navies, uniquely positioning him at the intersection of commercial efficiency and military precision.

As the former Chief Harbourmaster and Designated Person for the five Ministry of Defence ports, Bill served as the head of profession for maritime specialists. In this high-stakes role, he was responsible for the safety of navigation, regulatory compliance, and the strategic management of critical national infrastructure.

    Conducted over 30 complex investigations as an inspector with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, providing deep insights into risk mitigation and safety protocols.

    Managed a premier maritime training school, pioneering the use of advanced simulation to train, assess, and certify the next generation of maritime professionals.

    Extensive experience as Master and Commanding Officer, bringing real-world seafaring perspective to shore-based consultancy.
